5 Boroughs of NYC Ranked

New York City, a city so nice they named it twice. this article will explore my 100 percent biased but 100 percent factual (kidding of course) opinon of the proper way to rank the five boroughs of the city

5. Staten Island

Yes it is an inside joke that Staten Island is the forgotten borough, and the natives of the other four boroughs often feel superior to S.I. residents. The reason for this is that S.I. feels distanced from the city since the trains or buses dont run to the borough, in order to get there you have to take the ferry, which can be unreliable, there are also a multitude of other reasons but that would be way to long for this. Staten Island is the birth place of the legendary rap group the Wu Tang Clan forever cementing its legacy in NYC culture and history.

4. Queens

Queens is legendary for its extensive culture in hip hop birthing legends like 50 Cent, Nas, LL cool J and many more. On top of that the borough is very culturally diverse, and has some of the best places to eat in the city. The down side for me personally is the difficulty of navigation of this borough, especially if you are not a native. Queens is beautiful and in my opinion has the most to offer in terms of seeing every side of NYC in 1 borough.

3. Manhattan

The poster boy of the city, and actually is the true New York City historically speaking. This is on every hallmark card and is what tourists think of when they think NYC. There is also so much more to offer than just the tourist attractions, like going uptown to Harlem or playing basketball at the Dyckman courts and so much more, also probably the most likely to run into a celebrity. In my opinion the easiest borough to navigate as well. The severe lack of parking and the insane prices of any and everything are the major drawbacks for me though.

2. The Bronx

To many people, especially natives of the Bronx this borough is considered the heart of the city, and in a lot of regards they have a point. The Bronx in a lot of ways repesents the grittyness and the old school mindset of the city while maintaining immense culture and diversity. It is also the birth place of Hip Hop and they will be the first ones to tell you that. The Bronx truly only ranks lower because of inter borough rivalry with the borough im from spoiler alert. We show each other love while maintaining an icy playfully hostile relationship.

1. Brooklyn

Ah I can speak all day about home base but I am going to try my best to keep it brief. Culturally the borough is dripping in cultures from all over the world and it adds to the unique charm of it. The food is amazing the sights and tourist attractions as well, and there is no shortage of events to enjoy, such as the Labor Day Parade. Honestly i truly can not think of any cons.
